CJ Directory is celebrating 25 years in business. Here is a bit of history about our company.
CJ Directory was initially established in Williams Lake 25 years ago under the company name Info Book. Jerry Funn owned the company and, years later, brought in Jerry Karolat as a partner.
They moved the company to Quesnel, where both Jerry’s resided. Jerry Karolat’s daughter Camae Lynn eventually joined the company as another partner. They ran the company successfully for many years under the name Info Book.
When the partners went to trademark the company name, “Info Book” was already trademarked by the telephone directory in Williams Lake, so their name had to be changed. This is where the name CJ Directory came in. Jerry and Camae changed the name to CJ Directory (C – Camae and J – Jerry), which became its trademark name. 2010 was the first edition of CJ Directory under its new title.
In the year 2000, Denise Williams was hired as a graphic designer. She worked for the company for 12 years as an employee, assisting in producing the directory year after year.
We (Mike and Denise Williams) were presented with the opportunity to purchase the company from the existing owner’s Jerry and Camae. We officially took over on August 1, 2012, and we still own the company today. Mike, Denise, and the staff are proud to be a part of this community. We pride ourselves on providing current information and resources for the community and surrounding areas.
We want to thank the businesses and the directory users that have supported us over the years. We are proud to live here, work here, and look forward to many more years of servicing Quesnel & area.
We would also like to thank the Quesnel Bowling Association and Canada Post for delivering the books to residents in the community.
